This experience is made for lovers: take a walk with me through the walled town of Marostica and live its legendary chess match. The challenge reminds us of the love story between the beautiful Lionora and Vieri Da Vallonara: in 1454, the noble knight won his wife’s love thanks to his skill in a chess match. Thus, in even years hundreds of historical characters dressed in rich Renaissance costumes re-enact the ancient game in Chess Square of Marostica.
In Bassano del Grappa, after a pleasant walk in town and a talk about the warriors, emperors and merchants that dignified such a nice village, we will stop at two of the most ancient local “grapperie” (grappa shops) near the Old Bridge. Indeed, the territory of Bassano is grappa’s fatherland, thanks to its ancient distilleries that produce both classical grappas and new distillates, which are the result of researches and oenological studies.
Indeed, grappa is like a soul mate: everyone has their right one…
